Our most recent trip took us to St. Louis to Gateway Arch National Park in Missouri and Hot Springs National Park in Arkansas. We took advantage of being in the area to stop at the Ozark Folk Center State Park on the way to Hot Springs and in Memphis on the return to the St. Louis area. The drives could be shortened by over an hour each way by taking more direct routes between St. Louis and Hot Springs. We also spent an evening in the historic town of St. Charles, Missouri, which is close to the St. Louis airport and a quaint stop.
